There are a lot of great programs out there that can help with this. The two that we use for our systems are Avast Anti-Virus and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.
Avast provides great protection against most malicious software. But like all anti-virus programs, they are not 100% secure. That is why you need software that can clean your system when you get spyware or malware on your computer. Malwarebytes does an excellent job of removing spyware and malware infections after they have infected the system.
